Let's face it for the most part a lot of the reason why some of the gear is considered valuable is because a lot of the endgame is extremely expensive or time consuming for people to obtain, so people will resort to lower tier armor like barrows. Runescape gear for the most part is not horizontal. Low level gear will become naturally devalued as higher level gear is released, why would they stay relevant forever if the endgame becomes harder? Breaking them down as essentially improvements to gear is great and gives everything value. Why is it a bandaid solution?
